Overview

Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return Tour package is ideal for adventurers with limited time or vacation funds who are willing to pay any price for adventure and euphoria. It is a combination package that allows you to comfortably experience adventure, mystified nature, massive snow-capped mountains, and cerulean landscape.The trip provides a hypnotic aerial view of the world's highest peak, Mt. Everest (8,848m), as well as various massifs, glaciers, rivers, and rivulets, as well as a complete 360° view of the Himalayan region from the sky.

The trek provides excellent exposure to nature, culture, and scenic landscape while traversing downhill-uphill and rough trails marked by mountain climbers and historians such as Sir Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, and countless others. The trail begins with a dense forest, boulder path, suspension bridges, rivers, and Sherpa settlements up to EBC, followed by a helicopter flight from Gorakshep.

Everest Base Camp Trek with Return Tour by Helicopter The 10-day package has been carefully designed so that trekkers of average physical ability can comfortably complete the trek. The Everest helicopter tour is available for a large group on a charter basis. It means the trekkers will have to share the helicopter with other Everest Trek participants.

Itinerary

DAY 01
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. (1300m/4,265ft)

Your trip starts today when you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Upon your arrival, you will be received by our ANA representative at the airport. He'll be carrying an ANA board with your name written on it. Then you will be transferred to the hotel.  After you check into the hotel, our representative will brief you about your trip. Then free till pick up time for the welcome dinner. In your spare time, you can relax, walk around the hotel, go shopping for necessities, and so on.

DAY 02
Kathmandu (1,300m/4,265ft) to Lukla(2,845m/9,333ft) to Phakding(2,610m/8,562ft); 8 km, 3-4hrs trek.

Take an early morning flight from Kathmandu airport to Lukla. The flight is a scenic Himalayan panoramic flight to the gorgeous mountain town of Lukla, the gateway to Everest trekking. After landing at the Lukla airport, take some time to prepare for the walk of the day. Start the trek for the day today to Phakding, a beautiful town on the bank on the Dudhkoshi River. Approximately four hours of gentle walking on the Everest trail takes you to Phakding to spend overnight at a tea house.

DAY 03
Phakding(2,610m/8,562ft)- Namche (3440 m/11,285ft); 11km, 6-7hrs trek.

After taking breakfast at the tea house, you start the trek to the astounding Sherpa town of Namche today. The walk today is mostly uphill making you cover a good distance of elevation. You will come across lots of yaks, Buddhist prayer flags, and many trekking adventurers like you, and several other beautiful things. Once you arrive at Namche, you praise the charm of the town and the Himalayan view from there more. Check into a hotel and relax.

DAY 04
Acclimatization and Exploration day.

This is a scheduled acclimatization day. Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) and health experts recommend a stop for at least one extra night. Be active: climb high and sleep low is the acclimatisation advice. Namche Bazaar has ATMs, cyber cafés, delicious restaurant food and bakeries, plus a colourful market each Friday evening and Saturday morning. Visit the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor’s Centre: with informative displays on Sherpa culture, local flora and fauna. Walk to the traditional Sherpa village of Khumjung (3,780m/12,402ft): with fine views of Thamserku, Kangtega, Ama Dablam and Everest.

DAY 05
Namche (3,440m/11,285ft)to Tengboche(3,870m/12,696ft); 9km, 6-7hrs trek.

Leave Namche early morning after breakfast. It is a beautiful walk up to Tengboche, the monastic village in the Everest base camp trekking trail. On the way to Tengboche, experience some of the spectacular views around. Once you reach Tengboche and check into an est house, go and explore the monastery, learn about Tibetan Buddhism.

DAY 06
Tengboche(3,870m/12,696ft)-Dingboche(4,410m/14,467ft); 8km, 6-7hrs trek.

The trail descends to Deboche a small village with Chortens and Mani stone walls and nun monastery. Cross suspension bridge over Imja Khola (Imja Strasm) and gradually ascend to Pangboche with the towering view of Ama Dablam (most beautiful mountain in Everest region) Trail follows upstream closer to Imja River fairly moderate up toward Imja valley. The trail fairly seen open to the confluence of Lobuche river and begin last part of the day to Dingboche the last Sherpa settlement with the beautiful terraced field enclosed by a stone wall to avoid barley, buckwheat, and potatoes from the cold wind and grazing animals.

DAY 07
Acclimatization and Exploration day at Dengboche

This second scheduled rest day will assist your fitness and oxygen intake at the higher altitudes to follow. An enjoyable 3-4hr, 400m climb to Nangkartshang Gompa, north of Dingboche affords views of Makalu (8,463m) the fifth highest mountain, and awesome views of Ama Dablam and the valley floor.

DAY 08
Dingboche(4,410m/14,467ft) – Lobuche (4,910m/16,108ft): 7km, 5-6hrs.

The trail climbs to a ridge and views of Taboche and Cholatse. Continue through yak pastures to a wooden bridge – and Duglha (4,620m/15,158ft). The trail then ascends steeply for an hour, up the gravely terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. On the summit is a large group of stone-pile memorials to lost Sherpas and climbers. It also affords great border views including Khumbutse, Lingtren, and Pumori. Everest is hidden behind the towering Nuptse – Lhotse wall. Follow the valley upstream for an hour to Lobuche.

DAY 09
Lobuche(4,910m/16,108ft) – Gorak Shep (5,160 m/16,928ft) - EBC (5,364 m/17,597ft)-Gorak shep: 14km, 8-9hrs.

Start the walk for the day to Gorakshep after breakfast. The walk goes along the Khumbu glacier, the highest glacier in the world, and Changri glacier. Once you reach Gorakshep, check into a guest house and have your lunch before you hike to Everest Base Camp. Walk to the base camp of the highest mountain in the world and enjoy your moments there for a while and return back to Gorakshep.

DAY 10
Gorak Shep(5,160m/16,928ft) – Kala Patthar (5,550m/18,207ft) Pheriche (4,230m/13,877ft): 15km, 7-8hrs.

A very early climb of 2-3 hours up Kala Patthar, behind the village, offers a sunrise awakening of the Himalayan chain. First Everest (8,848m/29,028ft), then its surrounding vassals: Pumori (7,145m/23,443ft), Lingtren (6,697m/21, 973ft), Khumbutse (6,623m/21,730ft), Changtse (7,550m/24,772ft), Lhotse (8,516m/27,941ft) and Nuptse (7,861m/25,792ft). Plus Cho Oyo (8,201m/26,907ft) in the west and Ama Dablam to the south: amidst countless other peaks that crowd the horizon in all directions. Drop back to Gorak Shep for breakfast; then after airlifted by Helicopter to Lukla. If time is permit connect commercial flight to Kathmandu. But scheduled is relax at Lukla.

DAY 11
Lukla (2,845m/9,333ft) to Kathmandu (1300m/4,256ft) flight(30-40 minutes flight)

We pack up early and head for the airstrip to catch a flight back to Kathmandu Upon arrival in Kathmandu, the rest of your day is free to do your own things. You could do some last-minute shopping and packing, or send a few postcards home or even go down for a stroll to Thamel.

DAY 12
Flight Reserve and Free Day in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, the rest of your day is free to do your own things. You could do some last-minute shopping and packing, or even go down for a stroll to Thamel or walk around the local market.

Here’s a complete rundown of what to bring if you’re planning a trek to Everest Base Camp or any other tea-house trek in Nepal.  Proper preparation and equipment for the conditions will go a long way to ensuring you have a great trekking experience.  What follows is a pretty comprehensive list and will make sure you are covered in the coldest months of the year. If you have questions on what you might need just ask us and keep in mind that Kathmandu is a great place to buy trekking gear at affordable prices.

IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds or Euros and Japanese Yen in  cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc
