On a combo trip, visit the Himalayan Foothills. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Combo is a blend of Ghorepani and Poon Hill Trek. Poon Hill Trek is a great Himalayan trekking trip at a low altitude. You can admire beautiful nature in addition to the view of the mountains. The views of the scenery are amazing as you walk up and down the trail.

Trekking in Nepal's lower Himalayan regions has an overwhelming attraction. Poon hill loop is a part of every client's itinerary where they can see closeup views of the world's highest mountains, including the Dhaulagiri range, Gurja Himal, Tukuche top, Nilgiri range, Fishtail, and many others. The Himalayan Annapurna range, with its magical charm of mountains and nature, is undeniably a stunning place on earth.

The tour continues to incredible nature in the Annapurna foothills after spending some time in historical Kathmandu. Five days of hiking in the breathtaking mountains is an incredible opportunity to soak up the scenery and joy of the mountains.

Traveling through Nepal will expose you to a diverse range of cultures, natural wonders, flora and fauna, rushing snow-fed river rafting, a safari in Chitwan National Park (inner flat region) to see the rare one-horned rhino and many other animals, and more. Overall, you can go from 3210 meters to 300 meters. Overall, you get a taste of cultural adventure, relaxation, and fun in a short vacation.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu 1337 meter.

Your trip starts today when you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Upon your arrival, you will be received by our ANA representative at the airport. He'll be carrying an ANA board with your name written on it. Then you will be transferred to the hotel.  After you check into the hotel, our representative will brief you about your trip. Then free till pick up time for the welcome dinner. In your spare time, you can relax, walk around the hotel, go shopping for necessities, and so on.

Day 2
Heritage Tour of Kathmandu.

We take you for a day tour of cultural heritage monuments in Kathmandu valley after breakfast. The tour will give you a mixed insight of history, culture, art, architecture and spirituality of Kathmandu valley. The sites include; Swoyambhunath aka Monkey Temple: The oldest of all sites in Kathmandu valley, Swoyambhunath is an important Buddhist spiritual site having the history over two thousand years old. This site has gained a popular name as monkey temple as this small forested hill is a good habitat for hundreds of monkeys. The visit there will heighten your spiritual and cultural experience. Patan City including Patan Durbar Square: A tour to medieval city of Patan gives you a great insight about ethnic Newari culture, Budhhist spirituality, religious harmony, art and architecture while you stroll around the charismatic alleys taking you to magnificent local community squares known as Bahal and eventually leading you to an incredible medieval palace square. The monuments and skill of the local artisans displayed on those monuments in the square will stun you with their unbelievable charm. Boudhanath Stupa: The largest of its kind in the world, this magnificent stupa is a very important center of faith for the people following Tibetan Buddhism. This place is nice Circular Square with the stunning stupa in the middle of it which spreads a lot of spiritual vibrations around the atmosphere.

Day 3
Kathmandu – Rafting – River Bank Camp.

We drive early morning from Kathmandu to go to rafting starting point about 85 kilometers south of Kathmandu. Once we reach the rafting point, a briefing about the safety and other issues during rafting trip will be given. After briefing the rafting trip of about three hours start and time to play with the Himalayan water paddling down with the flow of the gushing rapids starts. Three hours of fun time in the river brings the trip to end at a river bank camping resort where we will have lunch and stay overnight as well.

Day 4
River Bank Camp – Pokhara 827 meter.

We will drive to Pokhara by tourist bus in the morning after breakfast. After driving for about four hours through scenic countryside of Nepal, we reach an eloquently charming city of Pokhara. The drive will have enough stopovers necessary on the way. Once we reach Pokhara, the charm of the city will capture our attention for a good feeling of being amidst the natural wonders from close up Himalayas to the surrounding lakes. A lake nearby our hotel is a nice place to take an evening stroll and the lakeside town has lots of options to dine. Have an option to fly to Pokhara at an extra cost.

Day 5
Pokhara – Tikhedhunga 1530 meter.

Today is the first day of our trek which starts after a one and half hours’ drive. Starting from the place called Nayapul, the trek goes alongside the Modi Khola, a Himalayan river flowing down from the Annapurna, to Birethanti and to Hile and finally to Tikhedhunga. We spend approximately five hours including the lunch time before we reach Tikhedhunga where we will stay overnight today in a simple tea house.

Day 6
Tikhedhunga – Ghorepani 2875 meter (9413 feet).

The second day of trek, we trek to Ghorepani today after breakfast. It is an uphill walk all the way through and the trek passes through beautiful Himalayan foothills settings of villages and rhododendron forest. As we walk up on the well-trodden mountain trails, it brings some of the incredible things in our view including the majestic Himalayas. Once we reach to Ghorepani at the elevation of 2875 meters above sea level, we will be stunned by the real close up view of the Himalayan peaks. If we reach there for the sunset time, it will be one rewarding sunset experience.

Day 7
Ghorepani – Tadapani 2610 meter.

It is going to be a very early morning today as we are hiking up to Poon Hill at the elevation of 3210 meters above sea level to see a breathtaking panoramic view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain range in the Himalaya. Given the good weather condition, the one hour hike up early in the morning will be rewarded by a heavenly view of the mountains and sunrise that makes us feel exalted. After sunrise we hike down to Ghorepani tea house to have our breakfast and start the trek to Tadapani. After an approximately five hours trek, we reach another spectacular place, Tadapani, and stay overnight in a tea house there.

Day 8
Tadapani – Ghandruk 2050 meter.

Trek to Ghandruk from Tadapani for about five hours after breakfast. Ghandruk is a beautiful Gurung village which boasts a beautiful view of the Annapurna range in the Himalaya. Spend rest of the day exploring the beauty of the village and mountains. have an option If you prefer to go via hot spring we could go to hot spring but I suggest you to the original plan is better.

Day 9
Ghandruk – Pokhara 827 meter.

Trek down to Nayapul after breakfast and drive one and half hours back to Pokhara. Once in Pokhara, you will have some free time to relax and wash the tiredness away.

Day 10
Pokhara Exploration 827 meter.

A free day in Pokhara to do some sightseeing, boating or some adventure sports like paragliding, zip flying, ultra-light flight, bungee jumping etc. The day’s activities would be at an extra cost. We will be happy to organize those extra activities for you, should you choose to do any. Or simply take your leisurely time on your own to get some massage, strolling around lakeside, shopping etc.

Day 11
Pokhara – Chitwan.

After taking breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Chitwan for an exceptional jungle safari tour. A five hours drive by tourist bus takes us to the tropical Chitwan National Park area where we will have various jungle safari activities. Once we reach the hotel in Chitwan, we will be briefed about the activities schedule. We will go for an ethnic Tharu cultural show in the evening.

Day 12
Jungle Safari Activities Day.

A full day jungle safari activities are scheduled for today. From Elephant ride to Jungle walk and canoe ride to cultural village walk, all activities are scheduled and we will follow the scheduled activities accordingly. The activities today will bring us face to face with some beautiful animals in the jungle like one horned rhinoceros, deer, bear, crocodiles, different species of birds and occasional encounter with royal Bengal tiger. We also visit the elephant breeding center and elephant bathing place.

Day 13
Chitwan – Kathmandu 1337 meter.

We take early morning breakfast and drive to Kathmandu by tourist bus. There is an option to fly back by paying an additional flight cost. The drive will take around five hours to bring us Kathmandu. Once we arrive at the hotel in Kathmandu, we will have some free time to relax or explore around before we go for the farewell dinner. have an option fly back to Kathmandu with additional cost.

Day 14
Departure.

You will be transferred to the airport as per your flight schedule. We will pick you up from the hotel three hours prior to your flight time.

Here’s a complete rundown of what to bring if you’re planning a trek to Everest Base Camp or any other tea-house trek in Nepal.  Proper preparation and equipment for the conditions will go a long way to ensuring you have a great trekking experience.  What follows is a pretty comprehensive list and will make sure you are covered in the coldest months of the year. If you have questions on what you might need just ask us and keep in mind that Kathmandu is a great place to buy trekking gear at affordable prices.


IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc.
