Overview

Chandragiri Hiking Tour is a stunning nature hike in the lush forest of Chandragiri Hill in Kathmandu Valley's southwest corner. Through a beautiful and peaceful forest area, the leads to one of the high ridge tops of the Kathmandu valley. The hiking trail was recently opened and is rapidly gaining popularity among nature hikers.

After a 30-minute drive from Thamel to Matatirtha village, at the foothills of towering Chandragiri, the hiking begins. You begin hiking towards the Chandragiri hilltop after a short tea break and hiking preparation. It's also a long day walk, taking about 7 hours round trip. Even on a hot day, the climb is as steep as it gets, but it passes through the trees, making it feel cooler. The walk takes about 3 hours to reach Chhap Bhanjyang, where you can rest for a while. Later, you resume the ascent to the summit.

When you hit the top, you'll be treated to a stunning view of the Himalayan range from east to west. A breathtaking long-range view of the snow-capped mountain and busy Kathmandu valley. Following the launch of a cable car service from the foothills to the summit, Chandragiri hill has become a popular tourist destination among locals as well. Restaurants, bars, and a stunning viewpoint, as well as the popular temple Bhaleshwor, are all available at the top. You start descending via the same route after spending a few hours at the top. You can take the cable car all the way down to the bottom.

After the drive, you can take the cable car to the top of Chandragiri and then walk through the peaceful green hill east ridge. We finish our tour in Pharping or Hattiban after a 6 hour long walk. The cost of the second option is double that of the first.
