Overview

Everest Panorama Tengboche trekking, also popular as Everest View trekking, is a short trekking trip in the Everest region. If you have less time to go all the way to the Everest base camp, this is a perfectly ideal trip. You will have a magical view of the highest mountain in the world.

The trek goes up to Tengboche taking you past the airstrip of Lukla which is the main gateway to Everest region trekking. It goes past Phakding village on the bank of Dudh Koshi River, Namche, the Sherpa town in the Everest region, and finally to Tengboche. Experience the view of the highest peak in the world from the way. This trip brings you wonderful memories of the Sherpa culture, lifestyle, spirituality, and adventure.

Don’t fall back from the chance of trekking to the Everest region just because of the lack of time to trek. Your short holiday will be full of wonderful Himalayan experiences in the mountains of Everest. You will also have some magnificent views of the mountain peaks including Mt. Everest.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. (1300m/4,265ft)

Your trip starts today when you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Upon your arrival, you will be received by our ANA representative at the airport. He'll be carrying an ANA board with your name written on it. Then you will be transferred to the hotel.  After you check into the hotel, our representative will brief you about your trip. Then free till pick up time for the welcome dinner. In your spare time, you can relax, walk around the hotel, go shopping for necessities, and so on.

Day 2
City Excursion and Trek Preparation. (1300m/4,265ft)

Full-Day Sightseeing

We take you for a day tour of cultural heritage monuments in Kathmandu valley after breakfast. The tour will give you a mixed insight of the ory, culture, art, architecture,and spirituality of Kathmandu valley. The sites include; Swoyambhunath aka Monkey Temple: The oldest of all sites in Kathmandu valley, Swoyambhunath is an important Buddhist spiritual site having a history of two thousand years old. This site has gained a popular name as monkey temple as this small forested hill is a good habitat for hundreds of monkeys. The visit there will heighten your spiritual and cultural experience. Patan City including Patan Durbar Square: A tour to the city of Patan gives you a great insight into the  Newari culture, Budhhist spirituality, religious harmony, art, and architecture while you stroll around the charismatic alleys taking you to magnificent local community squares known as Bahal and eventually leading you to an incredible medieval palace square. The monuments and skills of the local artisans displayed on those monuments in the square will stun you with their unbelievable charm. Pashupatinath- This temple is located at Gausala Devpatan. Pashupati is one of the revered and holiest pilgrimages for the d’s Hindus.In the holy Bagmati River Ghat Hindu Crematorium, watch as the Hindu dead bodies are cremated in the unique way of Hindu tradition in the world as well as you will observe typical Hindu Holy Men known as Sadhus. Boudhanath Stupa: The largest of its kind in the world, this magnificent stupa is a very important center of faith for the people following Tibetan Buddhism. This place is nice Circular Square with the stunning stupa in the middle of it which spreads a lot of spiritual vibrations around the atmosphere.

Day 3
Kathmandu (1,300m/4,265ft) to Lukla(2,845m/9,333ft) to Phakding(2,610m/8,562ft); 8 km, 3-4hrs trek.

Take an early morning flight from Kathmandu airport to Lukla. The flight is a scenic Himalayan panoramic flight to the gorgeous mountain town of Lukla, the gateway to Everest trekking. After landing at the Lukla airport, take some time to prepare for the walk of the day. Start the trek for the day today to Phakding, a beautiful town on the bank on the Dudhkoshi River. Approximately four hours of gentle walking on the Everest trail takes you to Phakding to spend overnight at a tea house.

Day 4
Phakding(2,610m/8,562ft)- Namche (3440 m/11,285ft); 11km, 6-7hrs trek.

After taking breakfast at the tea house, you start the trek to the astounding Sherpa town of Namche today. The walk today is mostly uphill making you cover a good distance of elevation. You will come across lots of yaks, Buddhist prayer flags, and many trekking adventurers like you, and several other beautiful things. Once you arrive at Namche, you praise the charm of the town and the Himalayan view from there more. Check into a hotel and relax.

Day 5
Acclimatization and Exploration day.

Already at an elevation of 3,440 meters above sea level, you need to acclimatize with the high altitude atmosphere. Thus it is an extra day at Namche to acclimatize doing some uphill side hikes around Shyangbohce Airstrip, Everest View Hotel, and Khumjung Village. Enjoy the view of Mt. Everest and other mountains from the Everest viewpoint. Once you return back to Namche from the hike, you will have some time to explore the charming town of Namche as well.

Day 6
Namche (3,440m/11,285ft)to Tengboche(3,870m/12,696ft); 9km, 6-7hrs trek.

Leave Namche early morning after breakfast. It is a beautiful walk up to Tengboche, the monastic village in the Everest base camp trekking trail. On the way to Tengboche, experience some of the spectacular views around. Once you reach Tengboche and check into an est house, go and explore the monastery, learn about Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 7
Tengboche(3,870m/12,696ft) to Monjo (2,835m) – 5 hrs walk

After breakfast at the house, start your trek by descending down to  Phunki Tenga and cross the river enjoying views and local Sherpa settlements en-route. Stop at Namche Bazzar for lunch and stroll for short shopping if you have any list with your trek guide. Continue your walk to Monjo.

Day 8
Monjo (2,835m) to Lukla(2,860m) – 5 hrs walk

Walk another six hours back to Lukla today after your breakfast. The walk passes through Phakding where you had spent you first night in the mountain. Reach Lukla and spend some leisurely time there.

Day 9
Lukla (2,845m/9,333ft) to Kathmandu (1300m/4,256ft) flight(30-40 minutes flight)

Take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu and then transferred to the hotel. You have a free afternoon to relax or explore. We will meet in the evening to go for a farewell dinner.

Free Day in Kathmandu.

Spend your free day in Kathmandu exploring around and Shopping etc.  Or we can arrange any kinds of short, hiking around the valley, Day return tour & Shopping at your request.

Here’s a complete rundown of what to bring if you’re planning a trek to Everest Base Camp or any other tea-house trek in Nepal.  Proper preparation and equipment for the conditions will go a long way to ensuring you have a great trekking experience.  What follows is a pretty comprehensive list and will make sure you are covered in the coldest months of the year. If you have questions on what you might need just ask us and keep in mind that Kathmandu is a great place to buy trekking gear at affordable prices.

IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds or Euros and Japanese Yen in  cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc.
