Overview

Trekking in Nepal's lower Himalayas is a great way to spend a vacation filled with adventure. The Himalayan Annapurna range is a strong and spectacular place on earth that radiates a spiritual energy that raises positive vibrations.

Ghorepani Poonhill Australian Cap loop is an old and well-known trekking route that takes seven days and leads to Ghandruk and Chhomrong. The scenic beauty of the Modi river valley, as well as beautiful clustered Gurung villages in Ghandruk,  Landruk, Tolka Pothana, and Dhampus, were all part of this path. This trek provides a spectacular low-altitude Himalayan trekking experience with panoramic views of the central Himalayan ranges of Annapurna (8,091m.) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m.) Rolling up and down the well-marked mountain trails provides some of the most stunning views and amazing experiences on the planet.

After spending some time in historical Kathmandu, the trek continues through breathtaking scenery to the Annapurna foothills. Trekking in the beautiful mountains for seven days through cultural villages and Himalayan vegetation is an amazing way to soak up the mountain scenery and joy.

Itinerary

DAY 1
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. (1300m/4,265ft)

Your trip starts today when you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Upon your arrival, you will be received by our ANA representative at the airport. He'll be carrying an ANA board with your name written on it. Then you will be transferred to the hotel.  After you check into the hotel, our representative will brief you about your trip. Then free till pick up time for the welcome dinner. In your spare time, you can relax, walk around the hotel, go shopping for necessities, and so on.

DAY 02
Drive to Pokhara (822m./2,697ft.):Distance 200km. Approximately 7 Hours

We will drive to Pokhara today. After driving for about seven hours through scenic countryside of Nepal, we reach an eloquently charming city of Pokhara. The drive will have enough stopovers necessary on the way. Once we reach Pokhara, the charm of the city will capture our attention for a good feeling of being amidst the natural wonders from close up Himalayas to the surrounding lakes. A lake nearby our hotel is a nice place to take an evening stroll and the lakeside town has lots of options to dine.Have an option to fly to Pokhara at an extra cost.

DAY 03
Drive to Nayapul 1 Hrs and trek to Tikhedhunga (1,480m./4,855ft.):Distance 9.2km 4-5Hours

Today is the first day of our trek which starts after a one and half hours’ drive. Starting from the place called Nayapul, the trek goes alongside the Modi Khola, a Himalayan river flowing down from the Annapurna, to Birethanti and to Hile and finally to Tikhedhunga. We spend approximately five hours including the lunch time before we reach Tikhedhunga where we will stay overnight today.

DAY 04
Trek from Tikhedhunga (1,480m./4,855ft.) to Ghorepani (2,874m./9,429ft.) :Distance 12.9km. 6-7Hours

Wake up early for an early breakfast at your tea house in preparation for your big climb to Ulleri. The journey begins with a steep stone stairway (3,767 steps to be exact) up the ridge line, eventually leading you through cultivated fields. After you finish this section, the trail continues through a beautiful area of blooming rhododendron blossoms and old oak forests.
Continue climbing uphill until you reach Nangethanti, where you will stop for lunch. Thanti is a Nepali word that means "rest house"; keep in mind that the trail can be covered in snow during the winter months. Work off your lunch and continue climbing until you reach Ghorepani, a popular trekking destination surrounded by spectacular scenery.

DAY 05
Sunrise from Poonhill (3,210m./10,531ft.). Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani (2,610m./8.563ft.):Distance 11km. 6-7Hours

We hike through dense forest in the early morning to the magnificent view-point of Poon Hill (3,210m./10,531ft.). The broad hilltop provides a spectacular sunrise view of Annapurna and other snow-capped peaks such as Dhaulagiri (8,167 m./26,795ft.), Annapurna I (8,091m./26,545ft.), Annapurna fang, Annapurna south(7,219m./23,684ft.), Hiunchuli, and Dhampus peak. After taking in the breathtaking scenery, we return to Ghorepani for breakfast before resuming the trek. The trail ascends from Ghorepani to Tadapani along ridges through dense rhododendron and oak forest. After a 6-7 hour trek from Ghorepani, we arrive at Tadapani, our destination for the day.                               Have an option for you according to your physical condition if you like to continue to the loop we don’t take you Poonhill we take you to fallow the trail to Tadapani where another side same height and 90% similar view point like Poonhill and makes your walk easier to Tadapani.

DAY 06
Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk (2.012m.6,601ft.):Distance 5.4km. Approximately 3 Hours

After a delicious breakfast, we begin our day hike to traditional Gurung village Ghandruk.
We will walk slope down trail by deep forest all the way to Ghandruk village. Ghandruk is one of the specific Gurung villages where you could boast a beautiful view of the Annapurna South(7,219m./23,684ft.), Himachuli, Fishtail (Machhapuchhre(6,993m./22,942ft.),  Annapurna III right in front of you. Ghandruk secured Gurung Museum, Monastery, the temple as well as Annapurna conservation sub unit post where you could see the video activities in ACAP.
After lunch, spend rest of the day exploring the beauty of the village and mountains. If you are interested with traditional Gurung dress, you can wear a traditional Gurung dress on hire and enjoy a taking Photography.  Also, on your request, Gurung culture dance will be shown in the evening.  But you need to donate some money for that cultural group.

DAY 07
Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2,340m./7,677ft.):Distance 9.8km. Approximately 5-6 Hours

At this point, we climb for about an hour to Komrong Danda. We can see Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), and Ganggapurna along the way. The Kimrong Khola is reached after a steep descent. We descend for a while after another steep ascent from Kimrong Khola to Chere Danda, and then it's a gentle walk to Chhomrong.Chhomrong is a lovely village nestled in the shadow of the massive Annapurna range.

DAY 08
Trek from Chhomrong to Landruk (1,628m./5,341ft.); Approximately 5-6 Hours

The beginning of the trek today is all downhill followed by an uphill walk so the beautiful breakfast we devoured at the tea house in Chhomrong. Then we take bath in natural hot spring after hour of walk from Chhomrong and taking lunch in Jhinu we continuous down to Modi river valley then immediately gradual up to beautiful Landruk village.

DAY 09
Trek from Landruk to Australian Camp (2,055m./6,742ft.):Approximately 5-6 Hours

Today after taking Breakfast in Landruk overlooking view of the Annapurna south and Himachuli including cultivate trace and many village by Balcony we will take gradual way to Bhichhuk then soon climb up to Deurali. Escaping totally in nature and we climb down to Pothana, taking lunch in pothana we are heading again gradual down Australian Camp  with beautiful walk in Nature. 

Australian Camp, located on a beautiful hilltop, offers stunning views of the valleys as well as the Annapurna Mountain range. The location is to the north-west of Pokhara. The Australian Camp is located on a ridge with a spectacular view of Annapurna South (7,219m), Hiunchuli (6,440m), Machhapuchhre (6,993m), and Lamjung Himal icluding Manaslu range.

DAY 10
Trek down from Australian Camp to Phedi and Drive to Pokhara. (822m./2,697ft.) 45minutes

 After sunrise view of the Annapurna range, we take breakfast  then about one hours walk down to Dhampus. After tea break in Dhampus another  hours walk to phedi with beautiful village and great landscape.  From Phedi we will drive to Pokhara 45minutes. If you feel tired, there are option that can drive from Dhampus an extra cost.                                                                                                                                                           After check in hotel, You can rest at hotel or can do sightseeing, boating, lakeside walking, Shopping etc. your guide will support you for those activities an extra cost.

DAY 11
Fly back to Kathmandu (1300m/4,265ft) 30 minutes from Pokhara

After breakfast free till flight from Pokhara. As your wish you can do  some adventure sports like paragliding, zip flying, ultra-light flight, bungee jumping  etc. The day’s activities would be at an extra cost. We will be happy to organize those extra activities for you, should you choose to do any.  After lunch drive to domestic Airport and fly back to Kathmandu.                                                                            
When you arrive in Kathmandu, you have a option an extra cost. If you are interested to do some sightseeing in heritage sites, guide will take you directly to sightseeing sport or shopping places. Otherwise, transfer to Hotel and you will be free till Dinner.

DAY 12
Final Departure.

You will be transferred to the airport as per your flight schedule. We will pick you up from the hotel three hours prior to your flight time.

Here’s a complete rundown of what to bring if you’re planning a trek to Everest Base Camp or any other tea-house trek in Nepal.  Proper preparation and equipment for the conditions will go a long way to ensuring you have a great trekking experience.  What follows is a pretty comprehensive list and will make sure you are covered in the coldest months of the year. If you have questions on what you might need just ask us and keep in mind that Kathmandu is a great place to buy trekking gear at affordable prices.

IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS AND ITEMS

  • Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets
  • Separate photocopies of passport, visa form (easily obtained at Kathmandu airport), proof of insurance
  • Dollars, pounds or Euros in cash for purchasing Nepalese visa at Kathmandu airport, for paying for restaurants and hotels, for gratuities, snacks, and to purchase your own drinks and gifts
  • Credit cards, Bank/ATM/Cash machine cards for withdrawing funds from cash machines (bring a photocopy of your cards), traveler's checks, etc.
